The struggle is definitely real.
Sadly, I still have not launched the food blog I was hoping to be hosting by now. I have plenty of material, just been busy to actually fit it all together. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon since I can take a short breather.
Anyways, in terms of games, I've been still unbelievably addicted to Order & Chaos Duels and QUIZ RPG, both of which are fantastic games worth checking out. I'll try to do a full out review of QUIZ RPG once I've got some time on my hands, but It feels like the best CCG grind game I've ever seen on the app store. Or at least whatever genre Puzzle & Dragon is. I think it's a CCG, I'd call it one, since you're prime motivator is really just collecting cards?
Regardless, it's fantastically done. It has a much richer depth of strategy compared to P&D, but the party building is essentially of the same formula. It's greatest achievement besides a much more engaging combat system and more depth in terms of strategy during battle, is definitely the story. Sure it's a simple story, and not a particularly interesting one. But it's not broken, it's coherent, and it's just slightly interesting enough that it actually carries the players over in terms of motivation, rather than just throwing the player into a game with no real motivation other than "Here, sink money into this game and collect cards."
This is a similar achievement of O&C Duels, over similar titles, like Tyrant or Shadow Era, both of which are still fine, but Tyrant has a very annoying power creep, the battle don't feel very deep, and the energy system doesn't fit very well, where as the epic bosses of O&C achieve the same effect but does it with much more purpose and meaning. Shadow Era is great, but I guess I already played it too much, but the lack of a even remotely interesting story does give O&C a boost, though I do feel Shadow Era is slightly more balanced, but thats really just cuz it has more cards in it's pool.
Eh, this sorta became an impromptu review... oh well, until next time.
