It's a new year! So, all of the depressing stress of the job search aside, senior year has been good to me. I successfully managed to host a great Taste of Asia, finished APAHM, single handedly broke all records by bringing in over 1070$ of cash in bubble tea sales in a single week (thats more than we've ever made in an entire year before.)
So yeah, I feel pretty good about it all. Though admittedly, I probably should've worked harder at finding a job, I honestly didn't think it would be so difficult. Considering how much work experience I have on my resume, it didn't go nearly as well as I thought it would. Sure, I managed to get several first round and second round interviews, much higher in percentage than normal, but I didn't make it past a single second round interview. Not once was I flown out anywhere. So now that it's already second semester, it's a bit scary.
Thus, I am now on the job hunt with renewed vigor. I would sell my soul to work at a game development studio, but if that can not come to pass, I'm honestly be happy with anything that let me stay in the country.
That said, my new years resolution, besides finding a job (which is more of a necessity), is to design and launch a board game on Kick Starter within 10 weeks!
I've laid out a 10 week schedule for myself, and week one just finished yesterday! The project is also (as you can see from the title) currently code named Project Groot.
I will start posting weekly updates on this blog, mostly as a record of progress for myself (since I know no one will read this anyways lol).
I'll talk about the game and my week 1 progress in my next post :)
